This clip is from a 1990 short film directed by Alexander Guriev who studied under the legendary Ivan Ivanov-Vano and found ways to use the genre of folk art in new ways. His much admired "Cat & Company" combines folk art, music and literature. With a humorous eye it’s a joyful tale of a cat who is rejected by his mistress because he likes to hunt mice too much. This film can be watched in its entirety on the Masters Of Russian Animation DVD set - an extraordinary collection of Russia's most important animated short films by Russia's world renowned directors.
