More used to guests from more pricy hotels perhaps.... Given we met Debbie (child physiologist) and Mitch (dentist) at the Swiss Hotel on route to the airport. Our other Athala II (boat name) passengers were a family of 6 (2x doctors Patty and Jeff, 21 yo David, 19yo Eric, 17yo Hannah and 14yo Carolyn) who also shared our flight. On route we bumped into people we had met in both Quito and the Hacienda all heading for the Galapagos. Also sharing the plane was a drug lord, mistress and son (in turquoise suit - nice) or at least that was our assumption given the way they looked. Greeted at the arrivals gate and our bags collected for us, we were whisked into another world. My-oh-my... we had arrived for 8 days of absolute luxury. Our boat was by far the best we saw all week. Our large room, double bed, great bathroom with Aveda product (HELLLOOOO), fluffy towels laid out on the bed each day in different Galapagos animal shapes, cooked breakfasts and 3 course lunches and dinners. Oh and if we left our clothes lying around the bedroom... they would be folded up and placed neatly on the side. Now THIS is how you travel... although we are not going to talk about the price of this part of the holiday ...
