The International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) has drawn the attention of the Nepal government on the country’s sky becoming increasingly unsafe for air-travel. Director of ICAO Asia-Pacific Region, Mokhtar A. Awan said this at a meeting with caretaker Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal at the Prime Minister's Office in Singha Durbar Friday while expressing concern over Nepal's air safety and security which has come under increasing scrutiny recently due to the spate of airplane and helicopter crashes in which dozens of people have lost their lives. At the meeting, the delegation led by Mokhtar also advised Nepal government to immediately start work to make the airports as well as airways of Nepal comply with the international norms and standard as per the ICAO provision.
