The architecture is stunning and everything is maintained well and kept clean. The only drawback is the city is kept like this for tourism and everybody is out to sell you something. It´s impossible to walk around the main area of town without having someone run up to you trying to get you into their restaurant or bar, or sell you massages, paintings or tattoo´s. I found it very invasive but you just get used to ignoring them. I suppose their job isn´t easy either. But Cusco has everything for the tourist with money. Fantastic restaurants, expensive jewelry and fine woolen clothes. On a budget its hard not to want to splurge a bit. But apart from enjoying the lovely city that Cusco is our main reason here was for the Inca Trail. Myself and Conor got on really well, no accidents! We had a group of 16 which I think is rather large but we had three guides who were brilliant. The group was such a mixture, English, Spanish, Norwegian, Brazilian, Argentine and American and us of course. Their was six Argentinians, a couple in the 50s (who unfortunately had to leave on beginning of day 2) and another couple who were on their honeymoon (22yr guy and 33yr woman) I wonder now if they are still happy of doing the Inca ...
