This step-by-step tutorial is intentionally very simple, so even not experienced Delphi programmers should be able to build projects described here. The objective of this lab exercise is to understand the process of authenticating DataSnap clients based on provided credentials and implementing fine-grained access to server methods based on user roles. "Authentication and Authorization" demo consists of a server and client DataSnap VCL Forms applications communicating with TCP/IP protocol and providing different levels of access to server-side functionality depending on a user role. In the first part of this episode we are building the server and in the second - the client. The article for this demo is available at the edn.embarcadero.com and the source code at Embarcadero Code Central (cc.embarcadero.com
