El Lehendakari aboga por que Euskadi se convierta en polo de conocimiento y referencia de desarrollo industrial, en el sector de la energía, a nivel mundial La de Mutriku, es la primera planta europea que suministra energía a través de las olas conectada a red en funcionamiento en España y en la Europa Continental. Se estima una producción anual de 600.000 kWh, lo que supone energía eléctrica suficiente para abastecer las necesidades de 600 personas. Esta energía producida de forma limpia y renovable evitará la emisión de 600 toneladas de CO2 al año, equivalente al efecto depurativo de 80 hectáreas de bosque.
