It’s small in size, but valuable; tiny hidden video cameras clipped to deputies' uniforms as they patrol Valencia County. Deputies have been using the button cameras for about a month, but it's already resulting in a higher number of DWI convictions, and a smaller number of citizen complaints against deputies. A Valencia County man called deputies after discovering some valuables missing from his home. With his button-camera rolling, the deputy discovers it was the man's 20-year-old son who had broken into the home and thanks to the camera, the son's admission is caught on tape and the father did not press charges. In another case, deputies say a couple was going through marital problems and lived together, though they had restraining orders against each other.
