Eusko Jaurlaritzak 2,3 milioi euro inbertitu ditu itsas energia proiektuan Patxi López lehendakariak inauguratuko du ofizialki itsas instalazioa, izaera erakuslea duena eta energia-iturri berriztagarri horretaz baliatzen diren beste instalazio batzuk sustatu nahi dituena. Portugalen eta Eskozian antzeko ezaugarriak dituzten bi instalazio daude, ikerkuntzara zuzenduak gehienbat, eta ez energia ekoiztera, Mutrikukoa bezala. Plantak 296 kW-eko potentzia du eta urtean 600.000 kWh ekoitziko dituela espero da, 600 pertsonaren kontsumoaren baliokidea dena; instalazioaren ekoizpen berriztagarriak basoko 80 hektareak dakarren onura bera izango du.
