Stripmall Ballads is a vehicle for original compositions and contextual performancess of Phillips Saylor. The music is just as the title says - ballads, from the stripmall, with the occasional punkass folk-noir opera thrown in. The stories are true and the names have been changed to convict the guilty. With a firm rooting in the traditional, Stripmall Ballads branches out into today’s America, fusing virtuosic historical convention with contemporary lyricism.
