Pendleton, Indiana (February 1, 2011) — This afternoon here in Pendleton residents are waiting to see if this ice storm is going to be as severe as Meteorologists have forecast it to be. Around noon today it started to be very clear as to just how dangerous this storm could be. Governor Mitch Daniels has ordered all non-essential state employees throughout Indiana to leave their post at 3pm. Businesses all around central Indiana were closing too. Some of the reports that were coming in off Twitter said: Indiana State Police reporting Visibility 1/4 mile near Lafayette Mod/Heavy sleet. No icing currently. About .10"-.25" on surfaces storm total so far Reports of Moderate to Heavy Freezing rain falling in Bloomington What happens over tonight is all going to depend on what the temperature is and whether the moisture falls as sleet or ice. At present we’re watching and waiting and hoping for the best.
