Last year I missed the Hurley US Open of Surfing when it came to town and I regretted it. This year I grabbed my sweet wife Mary Lu and rode our bikes down to the Huntington Beach pier for the finals on Sunday August 8, 2010. Local HB guy and last years winner Bret Simpson beat Kelly Slater ( the best surfer there ever was - 9 time world champion ) by .04 points to get into the final against Jordy Smith who is the current ASP (Pro Surfers Major League) tour leader. Jordy beat out Mick Fanning, who is last yeears ASP champion. A very impressive final four! Anyway with 50000 spectators and 25000 of them young girls in bikinis, the whole thing took on a Woodstock feeling, at least to me. A fun time for all of us.

Perú eliminó a Colombia. Le ganó 2 a 0 con goles de Lobatón y Vargas en tiempo suplementario. En el segundo tiempo Radamel Falcao erró un penal que pudo darle la victoria a los cafeteros. La selección de Markarián jugará las semifinales.
