Other than the musty, dirty blankets at least the hotel we stayed at had hot showers which literally made our day. We were exhausted carrying only about 10 lbs on our back that day, we cannot even imagine how Nytra (our porter) felt carrying the rest of the bags. We got the full meal deal family experience at our hotel, it felt like we were back at the Ukrainian heritage village. All the meals we ate were cooked and prepared right in front of us on the wood burning stove with the help of all the women in the family. At one point a poor German fellow found himself in between one of the women breast feeding and an old man on his other side. It was a neat experience. Day 6 of the trek was short and sweet! We reached Manang in 2 hours over a gentle hill with vast mountains about 7 km high on either side of us. Considering the day before we don't think we could have walked a step further even if we had to. We have spent two days in Manang acclimatizing to the elevation in order to prepare for what is about to come. As a Chilean man we met today said "Now, the real trekking begins..."
