As the largest minority, and younger population in the US, the widespread problem of obesity and overweight among Latino children must become a major focus not just for their community, but also for the nation. Driven by this call to action, many schools across the nation are adopting policies to teach healthy eating behaviors and exercise models at an early age. The organization for Healthy Kids has nationwide programs to help schools like Brooklyn’s P.S. 120 achieve this goal.
