Root Capital is a non-profit social investment fund that pioneers finance for grassroots businesses in rural areas of developing countries. It provides capital, financial education, and market connections to small and growing businesses that build sustainable livelihoods and transform rural communities in poor, environmentally vulnerable places. Since its launch, it has provided more than $200 million in credit to approximately 300 small and growing businesses in 30 countries, maintains a 99.5% repayment rate from its borrowers, and a 100% repayment rate to its investors.
