Semenanjung Kampar merupakan lahan gambut seluas 700,000 hektar dengan kedalaman mencapai 15 meter, di Pulau Sumatra, Indonesia. Lahan gambut tersebut mengandung lebih dari 2 milyar ton karbon. 400,000 hektar hutan masih tersisa, dan 300,000 telah dikonversi menjadi perkebunan kelapa sawit serta kertas dan pulp. Semua mata tertuju pada Kampar: penebang, pedagang karbon, dan perusahaan-perusahaan termasuk pemilik HTI RAPP. Tetapi apakah yang tersisa untuk masyarakat Adat “Akit” dan “Melayu” yang tinggal di semenanjung? Film ini menceritakan kisah manusia dibalik salah satu lahan penyimpan karbon terbesar di dunia.
