I can’t imagine what it's like to own a horse; I know people who come to their barn, get on their horse, put it back in a stall and leave. There's nothing wrong with that, I just honestly can't imagine what it's like. I earn every second with that old pony. The reason I wake up at 6 on a sunday and go wrestle feed bags onto percherons without getting trampled by the herd(seriously its scary), clean stalls, pick paddocks, sweep the snow off of picnic tables and sleighs (yeah...), clean more stalls, stock bales of hay, trudge over a snowy hill to go get horses, and shovel snow is for him. I do it for Tuck; because that's what it takes to achieve something. That's what it takes to earn the riding time that I can get because I want this. I'm not great, but I want to get better and I know that I will if I just work for it. Tucker's not a show kind of horse, and I'm not a show kind of girl. But I swear to god he is the most forgiving, patient, and willing pony on the planet. We don't show, we don't jump, but every ride is perfect and I will never trust another horse this much in my life.
