Nokia Corp. (NOK) is down 4.86% to $8.90, extending Friday’s 14% decline after analysts downgraded the stock over concerns about the company's plans to ally itself with Microsoft (MSFT). Among the moves, HSBC Securities analyst Richard Dineen and J.P. Morgan analyst Rod Hall dropped their ratings to "underweight" from "neutral" and Cowen analyst Matthew Hoffman cut the stock to "underperform" from "neutral." Dineen wrote in an investment note, "We understand Nokia’s thinking behind its decision to adopt Microsoft’s Windows Phone as its primary smartphone platform over Google Android – fearing rapid commoditization were it to choose Android instead, Nonetheless, we believe that this course of action is too little and too long-dated to successfully turnaround Nokia’s fortunes in the smartphone space." Nokia is trading at $8.91, down $0.45, or 4.81%. Microsoft is at $27.17, down $0.08, or 0.29%.
