It has a ton of the cloth used for the traditional Mayan wrap around skirts worn by the women, as well as cloth for belts, scarves and whatever. In addition a lot of live animals are sold here, including cows, pigs, goats, sheep, dogs, chickens, turkeys and geese. There is a section with foods, like beans, rice, vegetables, potatoes, etc., and a lot of manufactured clothing, all with fake labels on them, such as Levi`s, Izod-Lacoste, American Eagle, etc. Then there is a section that looks more like a swap meet with used electronic equipment, sewing machines and lots of used clothing. This market operates partly as a wholesale outlet, so people who have clothing stores in the nearby towns buy quantities of goods at this market to sell at retail. Many of the goods are bundled into quantities of a dozen, like 12 boys`shirts. I bought two American Eagle polo shirts for Q40, about $5.00. We´ll see what happens the first time they are washed.
