Our mother was born December 14, 1928. She was a pair of blue, blue eyes, a precocious little girl, a baker’s daughter, a kid sister, a straight A student, a shy young lady, a beautiful blonde, a loyal friend, a stealer of hearts, a pushover for a dark-haired war veteran, a devoted wife, a changer of diapers, a kisser of boo-boos, a comforter, a hugger of the first order, a green bean gourmet, a scaredy cat, a champion of her children, an advisor, a defender of the disadvantaged, a sympathetic soul, a gifted teacher, an inspiration, a born nurturer, a giver of herself and all she had, a confidante, a lifelong companion, a grandmother, a great grandmother, an embodiment of goodness, a beacon of light, a follower of Jesus Christ, an effortless sharer of the Holy Spirit and a wonderful, quintessential mother selfless to a fault. Mom passed February 9, 2010. She was our mother. But being her children has been the blessing of our lives. We’ll love her and remember her smile and her blue, blue eyes all of our days. And we will see her again.
