Start of the 125cc feature at Oreville. Me in the X running a Mc93 & Barry Greenzweig running my back-up Fox (a Mc92) re-numbered 74 for this race. We both started at the rear & at the start he went up thru the middle while I hung back as we were warned about our "starting manners" by the flagman prior to the feature (that’s why the girl was there holding the red & yellow flags before the flagman-it was areminder for Barry & I to "play nice" Only problem was I never relayed the message to Barry Ha Ha! He took off & I hung back only to have a kart driven by Anthony Pires get in front of me down the back stretch. Anthony is one of our younger drivers & has "learned" the art of driving one of these karts quite well. However on this day he was a little loose going into the right hander and I was already set up to cut to the inside of him & by the time I realized he was going to spin out I couldn't steer away from him enough & my RR tire & his RR tire connected so I knew I was going to spin also. But from all my years of racing modifieds I learned that sometimes it's better to keep your foot in it & do a complete spin & keep going! That's what I did-except it didn't quite turn out like I had planned. After it "hooked up" and got turned in the right direction the chain popped off! I was so close to just driving off! Poor Andy Simons (in the 111) he spun to avoid us & popped his chain too. No damage to any karts involved except for the thrown chains.
