Kristenjohn’s travel blog entry: "13/12 - We left Germany today for the Czech Republic, Prague! We went straight into the old town before heading to the hotel. Zsofi walked us around the Hradcany Castle. As late as the 1980's it was traditional for government officials to be thrown out the windows of the castle if the people decided they weren't doing a good enough job, though some were known to survive by landing in the big piles of horse **** and hay that collected at the walls! We then walked over the famous Charles Bridge and saw a highly disturbing peeing statue with swiveling hips and a mobile member, you can text a message to a number and the statue will pee that message...from there we went into the main square where there were again lots of Christmas markets. We then waited in a massive crowd to see the famous glockenspiel clock display, which was terrible but John made it worthwhile by convincing a group of kiwis to stick around for the next one in an hour because it would be awesome...stupid kiwis!! We had to form our practiced 'Contiki Wedge' to get out through the crowd, which involves putting all the small people in the middle and staying very close as the bigger guys on the outside shove their way through.
