I rose from my spot on the beige carpet and made my way to the swingset in the park. I seated myself on the swing I used to have Adam push me on. I laid the journal on my thighs' bare skin and swung back and forth, swinging my calves, folding and unfolding my legs. A thick, blue manila folder slipped from the centerfold, fluttering to the blue-stained gravel. The sun was just beginning to peak into the horizon, a burst of colors fanning throughout the newly painted blue canvas. My slender fingers slipped under the edge of the envelope and pinched it back up. I looked behind myself to sit back down and coiled my toes, causing my flip flops to slap against the sole of my foot. The creamy color of the sky somehow sickened me. The colors, the surreal atmoshpere... all reminded me of Adam. His stories. His dreams. The things I no longer recieved from his reaching hands. It was me reaching out now. But I'm falling, and he cant touch my fingertips without falling too. I shoved my index finger under the flap and ran it to the left, tearing the envelope open.
