Just raining, whether it be only a sprinkling or a downpour, it was just raining. So I headed to Lake Atitlan as planned. Before heading straight to the lake I stopped off in Solola, bought some mangoes, saw the church, bore the **** weather, and headed down to the lake. Walking over the dock, some guy was trying to direct people (generally avoid) and asked me where I was going, to which I responded, "San Pedro". Oh, he said, "San Pedrogas". Ha. Translation: "San Ped-drugs". Yeah, San Pedro la Laguna certainly is known for its wide-variety, availability, and cheapness of its drugs. I chuckled. The boat ride over was pretty awesome, realizing that, "holy ****, I'm back on Lake Atitlan, this is the end of my trip". Getting to San Pedro was a little bit of a weird one. By and large I've tried to avoid the genuinely seedier places (seedy in a "backpackers need their drugs" kind of way), but I figured I'd see what San Pedro was like. Honestly, I spent three days there I didn't really like it. Sure, there are tons of people to meet, lots to do, great bars and eating places, and the like, but there are better places on the lake, that's for sure.
