Welcome to Goa where it is apparently still 1970. In an attempt to get in touch with our hippiness, we went along to a yoga class. Within a couple of minutes the teacher had labeled us both as beginners. Maybe this was because neither of us can touch our toes whereas everyone else could not only touch their toes but wrap their hands over their toes and place their fingers under their heels. Our instructor met everyone of my preconceived yoga teacher stereotypes, he was Indian, old, skinny, muscly, he could chant in a deep hypnotic voice and he could contort his body into themost unbelievable positions and then stand on his head.
