미국 IT 전문미디어 씨넷 TV에서 최근 공개된 삼성 크롬북의 영상을 공개했다. 삼성 크롬북은 클라우드 기반으로 만들어진 구글의 크롬OS를 탑재하였다. 흰색과 다크 실버 두 가지 색이 제공되며 16기가 내장 메모리가 제공되고, 구글 크롬 브라우저 앱의 지원으로 다양한 앱을 구입해 크롬을 확장시킬 수 있다. 이 시스템은 8초밖에 걸리지 않는 빠른 부팅과 모든 자료의 클라우드 백업으로 정보의 손실이 없다는 것이 큰 장점이다. 3파운드(1.5kg)의 가볍지 않은 무게와 2기가 밖에 지원되지 않는 램, 아톰의 CPU는 이 노트북이 내세울 만한 것이 못되지만 크롬북의 실용적인 시스템과 사용하기 쉬운 OS는 사람들의 주목을 받고 있다. 올해 6월 출시 예정으로 와이파이 전용모델이 429달러이고 버라이즌의 3G 옵션이 추가된 모델은 499달러이다.
