To tell the truth after 5 days together, I was reluctant to break up the group any more than it already had already been broken without our guides and with Xieyi's departure. So the next morning, after Xieyi had gone to the airport, we all got into the zippy little car of Xiao Meng. We had met Xiao Meng at the guesthouse because the guard had introduced us when he found out we needed a driver. The guard was a retired horse trek guide. Actually Xiao Meng also used to be a horse trek guide, but after an argument with the boss, he had bought a car and started working as a driver instead. I could see the benefits of his new job and he certainly seemed to be enjoying himself, but when I asked him if he missed being a guide, he looked a little sad. When I asked him if he had had to sell his horses to buy the car, he nodded and looked fairly miserable. After just 5 days with Tie Shifu's horse Choijen, I had been really sad to leave him.
