## Shot 08/15/2010. ## Wire/StoryDescription: NASHVILLE, Tenn. ? In June, the Gaylord Opryland Hotel and Convention Center laid off more than 1,700 people.  Sunday, the resort started re-hiring the employees they had to let go. Suzanne Glafkla couldn’t stop smiling as she got her job back as a special events supervisor. "Gaylord is a great company, I'm too old to be doing anything I don't want to do and Gaylord is a great company," she told News 2. Pete Weien is the general manager at the Gaylord Opryland Resort. He said, "It's really another milestone event in the rebuilding of Gaylord Opryland. We really started planning this rehiring event right after that because we knew that day would be coming very soon." It's a day Glafkla's been waiting patiently for nearly three months. "[I] never doubted that they wouldn't be back bigger and better than ever," she said. Through the week, laid-off Opryland employees will be called in by department to the Radisson Hotel where they'll meet and discuss changes with their manager, fill out paperwork, get a drug screening, a new ID badge and refitted for uniforms. Weien said he hopes to rehire all the employees they had to let go plus 300 more for the hotel's reopening in November and the resort's annual A Country Christmas event.
