iReport — It’s been some years since I was this depressed in the summer. Here I am, planting flowers at the VA Lincoln, ME, clinic, last Friday, before my car started acting up, and I'm happy to be there, and enjoying the flowers, but I still feel like crying. Depression is a disease, all in itself.PS As we near the end of the 9/11 wars, which we can no longer afford, on a financial basis, to prosecute as we had in the past, I notice there is no ASSIGNMENT VETERANS, meaning that there is a SALUTE TO TROOPS assignment, but no assignment from CNN as to what kinds of problems veterans are having getting medical care at the VA.And I'm not talking about a TELL ALL, or EXPOSE, type of assignment, but with so many veterans, with so many problems from all the wars we have been in, you'd think there's be a category for these millions of veterans, who could share their stories, THE GOOD, THE BAD, AND THE UGLY.Perhaps I'm a bit bitter, but I noticed the Republican Chair of the Congressional committee that funds the VA said that, "Veterans will have to be prepared to do some more sacrificing," or words to that effect. And it seems as if, as with all wars throughout time, people want to forget the war, and care for veterans on the cheap, because who really needs them now, except to put on a uniform and march at the next parade to incite new enlistees to join up?
