Jamie is a gorgeous 1 year-old Collie/Shepherd mix female. Penny is a beautiful 1 year-old Collie/Shepherd mix female (she has shorter legs and a long body suggesting something like Basset Hound in the mix too). They’ve both been through a lot in their short life. They were picked up as a stray in a rural Kentucky county together. The two dogs were absolutely terrified there and wouldn't let anyone get near them. Fortunately for them, a very kind shelter volunteer decided to see if she could help them. She wanted to see if these two beautiful young dogs would relax enough to get a chance at adoption. She took them home and worked with them for about 6 weeks getting them used to being around people without fear. On June 26, they came up from Kentucky to Canine Lifeline for their next big adventure where they would look for new homes with loving families. We are so proud of these girls! They did very well on the transport and are enjoying meeting some new people here. They are super affectionate dogs--if you sit down, they'll be in your lap giving you lots of kisses and hugs! We've marked them as special needs dogs because they really will need extra special families. They don't understand about leash-walking yet and need some work on housetraining. To keep them safe, a fenced-in yard would be the best. They are very attached to each other but don't need to be adopted together.
