I know I’m ugly and mean, but I also have a good point. I got my first job washing dishes when I was 13. Although it is no longer legal to be hired that young in Minnesota, there are certain jobs you can do in which you can make just as much money. Babysitting, petsitting, lawn care, house cleaning, car cleaning, baking... I could go on and on. There is no excuse for a person not to work, because work is always available in some form, nomatter where you live. Forgive me, but I'm a strong believer in a good work ethic, which you NEED in order to properly care for a horse anyway! :) Show THIS to your parents, and I'm sure they'll agree. In fact, if you agree to work to pay for the horse, they're all the more likely to help you out with boarding and hay later on. :) Disclaimer: Obviously, this video will not work to get you a horse if your parents simply don't want you to have one. However, I find that for most kids, money is the obstacle, and this may be the only solution. If your parents don't want you to have a horse because they are dangerous, it shows that they care for you deeply and don't want anything bad to happen to you. You can, however, bring it up to them that people can get hurt doing almost anything. ;) I DO NOT recommend buying an unhandled arabian mare as a first horse. In fact, I do not recommend buying a horse at all unless you have leased a horse first and have a good grasp of what horse ownership entails. I know there are tons of people reading this and ...
