A poem about star-crossed lovers who’s relationship did not work out because of parental disapproval. Although this refers to an event that took place circa 1980, the young lady involved had been betrothed to another, from the time she was an infant. After the young man visited her home town in the upper-mid west, the father asked him: "Do you believe that blood is thicker than water"? His response was, "yes". What he didn't realize was that that was the father telling him the relationship was over. The young lady, being a God fearing fundamentalist christian would not defy her father. Further there was indication that she had waxed cold to the relationship. It took twenty years for this young man to get over his loss. He has now forgiven all and wishes her goodwill. He has never seen her again. If she ever sees this poem, and reads the full description, he would like to say hi and how are you doing. There is nothing but love, nothing but love. She will know who this is when she discovers that this is the guy who would draw a rose on the envelope in which he sent his love letters. This poem is copyrighted.
