The sound-recordist for the first Indian talking film was based in Bangalore, and now 75 years later, movie lovers in the city got together to celebrate sound and music in Indian movies. And Elgin Talkies, which was perhaps one of the first ever cinema halls in India and also the one of the first to screen the first ever Indian talkies Alam Ara, seems to be the perfect venue to celebrate the fascinating journey of sound in Indian cinema.
