INTRO: The V8 Supercars teams have started to arrive in Abu Dhabi for this weekend’s opening round of the 2011 Championship. Abu Dhabi is known for its extravagance and a group of the leading drivers were treated to something truly spectacular in the desert. PACAGE: Located in the Liwa Desert in the Empty Quarter of southern Abu Dhabi, the Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort is known as the 'Mirage Palace' and is surrounded by towering dunes. Its opulence was not lost on a group of V8 Supercar drivers including defending champion James Courtney of the Toll Holden Racing Team. GRAB JAMES COURTNEY Amongst the activities was sightseeing, camel rides and even time for a relaxation massage. For Trading Post Ford Performance Racing's Will Davison some stress relief ahead of the season opener at the Yas Marina Circuit was a different type of race preparation. GRAB WILL DAVISON The switching of teams for both Davison and Courtney has grabbed just about all the off-season attention. Courtney has completed three test days in the past week and he's now fully comfortable with his Commodore. GRAB COURTNEY Davison showed at the recent Eastern Creek test that he's ready to start things off on the right note in Abu Dhabi. GRAB DAVISON Cars and equipment are scheduled to arrive tomorrow.
