And I found all of that and more at Davidson-Arabia. Davidson-Arabia is a monodouck (think Stone Mountain), one of three such mountains in GA. (The other two mountains are Panola and Stone Mountain). Thanks to Path (www.pathfoundation.org), a bike path has been built that connects from the Conyers Monestary to Panola Mountain straight through Davison-Arabia, so there is plenty of easy (although some hills) biking, skating or walking. If you walk one direction from the nature center, you will find a covered bridge, a quarry office, tumbling water, a wildlife sanctualy, and a covered bridge. (If you hear gunshots, it is because there is a police firing range nearby.) If you walk the other direction, there is a great path to the quarry lake. If you go a little further down the road, there is the trail head for the top of the mountain. The climb to the top of the first peak (there are two) only takes about 25 minutes. One of the things I like about the mountain trails is that instead of using paint to mark the trail, they have cairns (piles of rocks bound with cement) to follow.
