Four of North America’s most popular tall ships (Lady Washington, Hawaiian Chieftain, Adventuress and the Zodiac) are seen at the Garry Point Park pier during the Ships to Shore festival (June 1 to June 7, 2011) at Steveston Village, Richmond, BC, Canada on Saturday, June 4, 2011. Epic mock gun battles at sea were also held on the occasion. Richmond's Steveston Village was once a major port-of-call for fleets of sailing ships from around the world. Ship profiles: Lady Washington The Lady Washington is a replica of the 18th century merchant sloop, Washington. Built in Aberdeen, Washington, USA, the Lady Washington is 34 metres (112-feet) in overall length. She was originally launched in March 1989 for the Washington State Centennial celebrations. Hawaiian Chieftain The Hawaiian Chieftain is a square topsail ketch launched in 1988 from Lahaina, Hawaii. She is 31-metres (103-feet) in overall length.
