A high school student in Albuquerque admits to bringing a gun en route to school, and police say he had plans to use it on some students.   But the teen and the gun never made it onto campus at Volcano Vista High School. Police say the teen admitted to state Children, Youth and Families Department workers that he was bringing a gun to school Thursday to threaten a couple of students who were bullying him. An officer stopped the teen’s car around 4:30 p.m. near Rainbow Boulevard and Paseo del Norte, which is near Volcano Vista High, because the car he was driving did not have a license plate that could be seen clearly. The teen did not have a driver’s license. So, his car was towed. Police say a school resource officer gave the teen a ride to school from the intersection where he was pulled over. That’s when investigators say the teen told the officer there was a gun in his car and told him what he was planning on doing with it. The teen was then turned over to CYFD. Police say the teen was not charged except for the traffic citation, and he was not arrested. They don't plan on charging him for the gun incident because he did not have the gun on campus and did not have the gun in his possession when the gun was found. CYFD is now working on getting the student some counseling. It's now up to APS if the teen will face any disciplinary action.
