We set out early in the morning so as to reach the laguna before the descent of the cloud cover. We took a bus to the entrance of the park, where wwe were dropped off roadside. We had heard that it was possible to take a pick-up from this point to the trail head, but as so pick-ups were in sight, we decided to walk it. The incline began immediately and it was steep! We climbed past homes with cows tethered outside and garden patches full of carroots, cabbage, and other veggies. As we climbed we were surrounded by the sound of music pumping through some loud speaker. The music bounced of the hills and seemed to be coming from all sides. We climbed and climbed and climbed.... and climbed... I had been told that this was one of the easier hikes to take, a good starting point, so I was looking forward to a good, but not exhausting, hike. This was not what was in store. We reached the edge of the town (and the paved road) and began to climb a very steep dirt road. As we were huffing and puffing up the hill we heard a truck approaching behind us, it took a good 20 minutes before they were able to make it up the hill because they had to reverse and start over repeatedly because the road just rolled away beneath ...
