The clip opens with triumphal music and scenes of the flags of the Big Three fluttering in the wind. The Russian commentary then starts over scenes of Soviet sailors guarding the arrival of the leaders in cars. Towards the end of the war the leaders of the Big Three powers Churchill (Britain), Roosevelt (USA) and Stalin (USSR) met in Teheran in 1943 and then here in Yalta in February 1945. Their aim was to discuss what would happen to Europe once the conflict was over. The upbeat tone of this clip is the most interesting feature. We do not get to see much at all, but the music and voice over both hint at optimism and progress. It is interesting to compare this with the style and tone of British films about events in the USSR.
