…This Figuration in C-minor…. (work in progress) Caption: Contemporary dance performance About the project: …This Figuration in C-minor… presents a body-work that focuses on the body within everyday comfortable positions (like for example sitting on a chair, lying, reading the book, enjoying, listening to the I-pod, walking etc) and uncomfortable situations. Using the specific source for expressing the movement, which lies in body reflexes and muscle tensions, main intention is to take audience through the process of disfiguration of body figures. This process by itself is supposed to give audience the opportunity to observe, perceive and participate in any kind of form, meaning, intention, sensitivity, desire, question and attitude they choose. My personal motivation came from desire to put body into the extreme positions that will push it to send out different massages and stories. This automatically brought me to the question: Do we need to put statements of our bodies into another extreme context (such as performance), so that we can awake and perceive them? Author/choreography: Igor Koruga Dancers: Ana Schnabl, Celine Larrere, Martina Nevistić, Aleksandar Georgiev, Igor Koruga This work was made during the Nomad Dance Academy educational programme in 2009. It was presented in Stara Elektrarna, Ljubljana, Slovenia within SHORTCUTS#2 manifestations, as a final event of NDA (www.nomaddanceacademy.org ).
