When spraying large areas with acrylic, enamel, or latex paints making shorter passes are important. If I were to spray this piece with long strokes (horizontally) by the time I got to the beginning if my first pass with the second pass the paint would of already started to skin creating a difference in sheen when the piece was fully dry. This is a quarter of a twenty foot disc or circle with the height around three feet. The first coat was with an etching paint (Pitt tech) for bonding purposes and the second coat with a metal/wood paint (speed-hide) for it’s ability to stay wet longer. I use the speed-hide for the second coat to reduce the amount of overspray. Note that I end every pass closest to the blower so that overspray is minimal.
