While my roomates were considerate, there were a handful of teens on our floor. Soccer teams was my guess. Did I ever giggle and need to put on dance music at 7 am to get ready? No. I waited til college and blared my music at 3 before happy hour. Anyway, I packed up my gear and headed to the little hotel where I was meeting Pat. It was a nice 30 minute walk - I figured that was easier than getting onto a crowded am bus with my luggage... besides, the day was beautiful. Pat arrived around 10, cleaned up, changed and then we headed for the colosseum and forum. We meandered through it and took a bunch of photos. The sun was hot and Pat was showing signs of some jet lag, so we came back for a nap and shower before heading out for the rest of the sites and dinner. Starting at the Spanish Steps, we took a stroll past the Trevi fountain, Piazza Navona, and down to Campo di Fiori where we selected an outdoor cafe for dinner. We ate a huge bowl of mussels and shared a yummy, spicy pasta. Funny story - when I threw my coin into the fountain (backwards, over my right shoulder), some guy was messing with me and indicated that I missed. He pointed to the ground, I went down to check and never saw it. Honestly, if I don't ever make it back to Rome ...
